2016-09-06 · EK+Bladesinger works best as a Wizard <6 dip because Extra Attack won't stack, but it can still be worth it because Song of Defense and better spells. The only sure thing is that for such a mix, you have to get Fighter part to at least 11 levels because of three attacks + disadvantage on saving throws.

Feb 9, 2010 Lets do compare the Bladesinger to the EK for a second, the EK requires 1 level of Fighter to meet its prereqs, making it easy to acquire 9th

In combat, a bladesinger uses a series of intricate, elegant maneuvers that fend off harm and allow the bladesinger to channel magic into devastating attacks and a cunning defense. Many who have observed a bladesinger at work remember the display as one of the more beautiful experiences in their life, a glorious dance accompanied by a singing blade. Fluffwise, I think you made the right choice in going EK. The other classes you mentioned might come close-ish, but EK seems like it was intended to cover that Bladesinger niche. It just captures the flavor so well! It's tempting to go with mage armor, but I feel like that's taking the fluff train one stop too far.

If you plan to multiclass in Fighter beyond 2nd level, I suggest EK because it gels with Bladesinger. Eldritch Knights are Fighters that gain access to the subtle arts of spellcasting. Much like Rangers and Paladins, Eldritch Knights are semi-caster classes, but they only gain spells slots up to 4th Level. They are limited to the Wizard’s spell list and can usually only cast abjuration and evocation based spells. The Eldritch Knight, when built correctly, is actually capable of being a very strong defensive fighter that does solid damage with a small suite of support or utility spells. Bladesingers were elven wizards who practiced the sacred art of bladesinging, an ancient and sacred tradition of fighting that blended swordsmanship, along with other fighting styles, and unique arcane magic.

Bard only has a look-in because of the 'Dancing' skill pre req quite honestly, and nothing is stopping you putting points into perform if it matters that much to you, regardless of class.

Arcane Recovery: Refer to the 5e Wizard Guide.. 2nd Level. Arcane Tradition: Bladesinging. Source: Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. Training in War and Song: Proficiency in Performance may be useless, but proficiency in light armor and a one-handed melee weapon is what sets the Bladesinger apart from the other Wizard subclasses.

Well, you are in luck as this Bladesinger guide will go over each detail in the subclass, as well as ways to be optimized, plus suggestions for this class.

Making a Bladesinger . A bladesinger can serve multiple roles in an adventuring party. He does well supporting a well armored companion in combat or serving as the magic user from the back lines. Also Bladesinger 6 / Monk 2/ Fighter 2/ Sorceror 2 is better Nova approach to max attacks avenue. It also spreads ASI crazy thin while limiting the number you would get. You need 13 in Dex, Wis, Int, and Cha to pull that. I'd recommend bladesinger personally.

Dex and Int: Variant human has amazing synergy with the bladesinger class. (Personally I'd take resilient: con over warcaster because dual-wielding is kinda a mess RAW with a bladesinger, but it's not a bad choice).

Wizard: Bladesinging Bladesingers master a tradition of wizardry that incorporates swordplay and dance. Originally created by elves, this tradition has been adopted by non-elf practitioners, who honor and expand on the elven ways.

- Skill Points: 2 + Int Modifier >EK Sub optimized. I barely get any magic options.

Elven Bladesinger (L20 Fighter/Wizard) In the Forgotten Realms setting, the Bladesinger combines quick melee attacks with magic. Armed with a Moonblade, their fighting prowess is unparalleled. Due to the nature of DDO, this can be considered a hard build to play.

Basically you are wanting a bladesinger type class. Keep in mind, bladesinger is just a prestige class. The spirit of it, is that you cast your wizardly spells, in medium armor, no shield using only a rapier or longsword, not dual wielding. You keep putting up dual wielding builds. Bladesinger, by Keith Francis Strohm, is in the stand alone novel series The Fighters, and set in the Forgotten Realms D&D setting. From the title and the series, you would think that the main character would be the bladesinger, but that is only true in a sense.
